Contemporary Music and Videos

With the explosion of the Jewish camp movement in the mid 20th century came the “song-leader” who began using the guitar, due to its portability and ease, to accompany and inspire young adults all over the world. This spawned a new and contemporary expression of prayer as these children became adults and yearned for the “feeling” of camp when they returned to the synagogue and grew into leadership positions. Over time, this folk style became more and more sophisticated spawning a new generation of composers. Please enjoy a few of these contemporary samples.
